Everybody dies. That point was thoroughly hammered to us by the latest Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War. From the sassy Peter Quill to the overeager Peter Parker, the number of superheroes left behind after Thanos’ infamous snap is so pitiful you want to urge the other superheroes to come out of hiding!
Regardless, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are superheroes who are bound to never appear in the next Avengers movie. Temporarily titled as Avengers 4, here are some of the Marvel characters that you won’t ever get to meet in the said movie:
So there’s a lot of fan theories that deduces how the next film will go about. One of the fan theories tells about how Adam Warlock will become one of the major forces in the next film as he was shown in the mid-credit scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Most importantly, he was also an important character in Infinity Gauntlet – the comic books version where Avengers: Infinity War was loosely based on.
Fans are definitely prepared to see Adam Warlock on the silver screen. There are even speculations on who will be playing the said role. Most people are looking forward to having Peter Dinklage take up the role but it seems that he had decided to take up another important Marvel role instead.
The deciding factor that dashed the fans’ speculations though is when Joe Russo, one of the two directors of the Avengers movie, finally confirmed that Adam is not slated to appear in the Avengers 4 movie.
Marvel Studios, which is under Disney’s management, has the full ownership over Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and all the other Marvel characters that appeared in the Avengers: Infinity War movie. X-Men, on the other hand, is owned by Fox. So, despite coming from the same Marvel Comics, fans have never seen the X-Men characters in any of the movies under the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now came the news that Disney is battling it out with Comcast to acquire Fox. Fans are thrilled with the idea that their X-Men characters may show up in the upcoming Marvel movies. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave fans a reality check when he revealed that the Avengers 4 movie was already in the editing stage way before the end of the Fox acquisition battle. Moreover, he also said that there are no plans of adding the X-Men into any post-Avengers 4 movies.
Just like X-Men, Fantastic Four is under Fox. Fans also thought that the Fantastic Four will come under the Marvel Studios banner just in time for the Avengers 4 movie. However, just like with X-Men, there are also no plans to include the Fantastic Four in any of Marvel Studios’ upcoming movies.
Aside from Adam Warlock, another Marvel character that has a prominent role in the Infinity Gauntlet comics is Silver Surfer. Unfortunately, Silver Surfer is under the Fox banner so it is understandable that he didn’t answer the call during the Avengers: Infinity War movie.
Of course, with the battle for the acquisition of Fox, many fans are hoping for Silver Surfer to have an appearance in Avengers 4. But then again, it seems that we have to continue waiting as he is not yet slated to appear anytime soon.
No matter how many times Deadpool send his resume to Tony Stark in his bid to join the Avengers, it seems that he is still bound to get rejection letters one after another. He can only go and be one of the X-Men for now.
Before the Avengers 4 movie comes up, all we have to go on are these fan theories and small hints provided by Marvel producers, directors, and mainstays. Stay tuned for more Marvel news.
