Tom Hardy plays as an investigative journalist Eddie Brock who becomes the host of an alien symbiote called “Venom“; the violent alter-ego that gives him super-human abilities. On the other hand, genius inventor Carlton Drake bonded with another alien symbiote called “Riot” played by Riz Ahmed who plays antagonist in the film.

Other casts include Michelle Williams plays district attorney and Eddie’s girlfriend Anne WeyingScott Haze as Roland Treece; Reid Scott as Dr. Dan Lewis; Jenny Slate as Dr. Dora Skirth; and Sope Aluko as Dr. Rosie Collins. Other undisclosed roles include Woody Harrelson, Scott Deckert, Marcella Bragio, Michelle Lee, Mac Brandt, Christian Convery, Sam Medina, and Ron Cephas Jones.

The movie is foretold to gross at least $60 million in its premiere  week, and is expected to earn at least $175 million worldwide. To break even, the film may need to gross at least $200 million globally according to Screen Rant. Its current price tag is at $100 million to produce everything, so it will be obvious to expect at least expect double to deem it successful.

Although, negative reviews showed a scoring of 4.3/10 in Rotten Tomatoes from critics saying, “Venom‘s first standalone movie turns out to be like the comics character in all the wrong ways – chaotic, noisy, and in desperate need of a stronger attachment to Spider-Man.”

Sony Pictures is planning to make Venom its own film series with a bit of cross-over possibilities with the Spider-Man films. A sequel is now in the works putting in the same universe as Spider-Man with a standalone feature now being developed with future collaborations with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We are definitely looking forward to seeing more Tom Hard in the next coming years!
