Disney has it down with live action remakes the past few years and nothing has changed ever since, with the famous ‘Aladdin’ coming to theaters soon. When the first trailer dropped, there were a lot of excited heads but there were also a few eyebrows raised, not because the trailer was bad, but because of one casting that didn’t make a lot of sense. We’ve always known the ever-so-loveable Genie to be blue and almost vapor-y but never in human form, but right now, Genie is being played by the famous Will Smith, and nothing has been done to alter his form. Smith is an incredible actor and we wouldn’t really know how it ends up until the movie gets released, so hold your horses and let’s see what happens.
Speaking of which, a new BTS video was released with the cast explaining how amazing their journey was, making the movie. One of the many casts that had a definite statement was Mr. Genie himself, Will Smith saying, “‘Aladdin’ is one of those perfect stories. You don’t know how you know every word of the songs. You just do.”
True enough, ‘Aladdin’ has been a favorite of many for many years with its culturally rich environment and atmosphere, and its tale of love, friendship, and generosity. The ‘Aladdin’ live-action remake hits theaters on May 24, 2019. It is directed by Guy Ritchie and still has music composed by Alan Menken. Check out the trailer here:
