After Stranger Things Season 3 premiered on Netflix last July 4, critics were in a consensus that the latest installment was a riveting summer flick worth watching. If you are still not convinced, then you might want to consider watching a few episodes.
Here are ten Stranger Things episodes that will get you addicted:
S1E01 The Vanishing of Will Byers
This is the series premiere of Stranger Things. In this episode, 12-year-old Will Byers encounters a creature while bicycling home and subsequently vanishes. The next day, a young girl with a buzz cut wearing a hospital gown (eventually introduced as Eleven) pinches food from Benny’s local diner. This encounter actually led to Benny’s murder. On the other hand, Will’s friends Lucas, Mike, and Dustin join forces to search for their missing friend. Their search ultimately leads them to an encounter with Eleven.
The first episode of the series is already thrilling. This episode will get you hooked in no time.
S1E08 The Upside Down
Eleven plays a very important role in Stranger Things. It is no wonder that there are many entities looking for her. In exchange for the chance to save Will, Hopper (the town chief) gives up Eleven’s location. The Demogorgons, who are already hot on people’s heels, are running rampant.
How will they escape these creatures when only Eleven has the power to stop them? Will they be able to save Will after all their sacrifices?
S1E06 The Monster
In this episode, we see a glimpse of the beginning of this all – of Eleven opening the gate to Upside Down. After saving her friends, Eleven eventually reveals the truth that she is the one responsible for the Demogorgons entering their dimension.
S2E02 Trick or Treat, Freak
As the second episode of the second season, Trick or Treat, Freak tells us just exactly how Eleven escaped from Upside Down. What happened to her after her escape, though? How about the people who were left behind on this side? What happened to them?
S2E03 The Pollywog
Further flashbacks allow us a glimpse of what happened to Eleven after returning to this dimension. We get to see that it is Hopper who happened to find her as well as take care of her consequently. Hopper allows her to stay in his grandfather’s old hunting cabin but he does not allow Eleven to go out. Of course, like any typical teenager (or person!), Eleven gets frustrated after being holed up for too long. She tries to meet up with Mike but sees something that hurt her greatly.
On the other hand, Will’s episodes of visions of the Upside Down continue to haunt him. Following a friend’s advice, Will confronts the tentacled shadow monster he keeps on hallucinating. Of course, how do you think that would end up?
This episode is actually the first episode of the second season. As this is the episode that sets the tone for the entire season, we get to see what happened to each of the characters in Stranger Things as they deal with their losses from the previous season.
S1E02 The Weirdo on Maple Street
The second episode of the first season allows us to get to know more of Eleven and the other kids. New characters, as well as new creatures, get introduced to us. The show gets even more thrilling as everything comes together.
S2E09 The Gate
The critical development of the show is finally culminating in this episode. The entire group conjures a plan on how they can close the gate to the Upside Down. Of course, they have to make sure that they don’t kill off Will in exchange. How do they do that? What are the consequences of their actions?
S1E07 The Bathtub
The hunt for Eleven is on with Season 1 Episode 7. The kids try their best to prevent their enemies from getting their hands on Eleven.
S1E4 The Body
How would you feel when you find a body at a quarry when you are still searching for your missing child? Joyce, Will’s mother, refuses to believe that the body is that of her son. Will’s friends also believe that Will is still alive somewhere. They just need Eleven’s help to communicate with their friend who is at who knows where.
