A new cyberpunk film Alita: Battle Angel is about to grace the silver screen this Valentine’s Day. Robert Rodriguez signs up to helm the film as its director. Subsequently, James Cameron and Jon Landau participate as the film’s executive producers. The story is set several centuries in the future.
Alita, an abandoned cyborg found at the scrapyard of Iron City by cyber-doctor Ido, awakens without any memories of who she is. Afterward, she tries to navigate through her new life, even when she doesn’t recognize anything – or anyone – around her. Of course, Ido, her father figure, tries to prevent Alita from getting hurt by her mysterious past.
This film is an original adaptation of Yukito Kishiro’s Japanese graphic novel Battle Angel Alita. This novel is popular in Japan under the title GUNNM. The author finds this film adaptation a “dream come true” for the author.
Starring stars Rosa Salazar, Jennifer Connelly, Christoph Waltz, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Mahershala Ali, “Alita: Battle Angel” will premiere in theaters this February 14 in the United States. Be sure to check out this awesome movie clip below:
