Out of the 62 Goosebumps books published nowadays, there are definitely ones that are unforgettable. It may be because they are too scary that you can’t sleep at night. It may also be that you find the ending twisted. Regardless, we can all agree that Goosebumps is a classic series worth reading. To get you started (or refreshed, if you’ve read the entire series already!), here are five of the best Goosebumps books of all time.
#1. Night of the Living Dummy
The “Night of the Living Dummy” is the seventh Goosebumps book as well as the first installment of the Living Dummy saga. Goosebumps books under the Living Dummy saga always have either Slappy the Dummy or Mr. Wood as the protagonist or the main antagonist.
#2. The Werewolf of Fever Swamp
With the tagline of “who’s afraid of the big, bad wolf?”, “The Werewolf of Fever Swamp” accompanies the terrifying experience of Grady Tucker. As the new kid at Fever Swamp, Grady still has a lot of things to learn about the place. And one of that is whether or not he can escape the grasp of the werewolf that’s terrorizing the residents when full moon comes.
#3. The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena
So what would you do when you see a snowman encased in ice during a trek in Alaska? Apparently, Jordan and Nicole Blake’s father thought that bringing it back to sunkissed Pasadena is a good idea. So when the ice freezing the Abominable Snowman melts – you probably guessed what happened already.
#4. Stay Out of the Basement
This book is all about clones and plants. A botanist is experimenting on plant DNA in the basement. Mix plant DNAs then add human DNA to that and you get a part human, part plant clone! The clone tries to take over the original’s life while continuing with the experiment in the basement.
#5. I Live in Your Basement
You want another basement horror? Then this book is your fix! The second-to-the-last book in the Goosebumps series, monster Keith will take your breath away as he brainwashes you into believing that he lives in your basement. Of course, you’ll just find him inside your house even if you haven’t invited him in. What’s worse is that he can spill his guts, especially when he is screaming at you.
Scarier is better! Reading the Goosebumps book will give you the biggest scare of your childhood. What Goosebumps books have you read and what are your thoughts about it? Share it with us!
