The gears are wired hot for the ninth installment of Fast & Furious as director Justin Lin returns with recurring Fast-iverse regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Tyrese Gibson. While the old stars are back, some new faces are confirmed to join the cast.

Last June, news of WWE legend John Cena joining the Fast-iverse has made its rounds online. Vin Diesel, playing the lead role of Dominic Toretto, even spoiled Cena’s inclusion in the Fast franchise in his Instagram post back in April.

Of course, John Cena isn’t the only one joining the franchise in the ninth film. It has now been confirmed that three actors are signed up to step into the shoes of three additional characters in the Fast-iverse. These three actors are namely, Finn Cole (Dreamland), Anna Sawai (Ninja Assassin), and Vinnie Bennet (Human Traces).

What roles they play remain a mystery, though. Although Fast & Furious 9 already started shooting scenes, the specific details on new characters have been kept under tight wraps. Not only their roles, but even the plot of the ninth sequel is also still covered in a thick veil. Fans are waiting for the official marketing materials to be released for these details – or perhaps for Vin Diesel to spoil it in his social media account.

“Fast & Furious 9” is scheduled to hit the theaters in May 2020.

Hobbs & Shaw

While many fans are excited for the addition of these new faces, there is still a cure for their Fast-iverse craving. Hobbs & Shaw, a spin-off of the Fast & Furious franchise, will have its premiere in theaters this July 31. It will star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, respectively.
