Deadwood’s Ian McShane takes a more villainous role in the 2019 reboot film of the Hellboy franchise. In “Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen”, McShane will play Hellboy’s adoptive father, Professor Broom. He will star alongside David Harbour who will be playing the titular Hellboy.
McShane is already a veteran actor in Hollywood. He already has a number of credits under his belt after spending more than 50 years under the limelight. These include “Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides”, “John Wick”, and “American Gods” to name a few. He also has a couple of accolades to show off, including a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series award.
As Professor Broom, McShane will be playing a pretty important role as he helps Hellboy in his fight against the Medieval sorceress bent on terrorizing the world. “Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen” promises to stick close to its comic book origins so Hellboy fans. Thus, not only with McShane’s performance, fans have a lot to look forward to with the Hellboy film itself.
While fans may be disheartened because Guillermo del Toro isn’t the one sitting on the directorial chair, this film still has many things to offer. Under the magic of Neil Marshall, Hellboy will definitely be a box office hit.
