While we are still reeling from the DC awesomeness that was Aquaman, here comes another DC Extended Universe superhero movie – “Shazam”, the story of Captain Marvel! This film is scheduled to hit the cinemas and IMAX 3D on April 5, 2019. As we get closer and closer to the release date, let’s take a quick look at the Shazam cast making up the film and see if we can anticipate how epic they will be in the movie.
The Shazam Cast
Asher Angel plays the Shazam boy Billy Batson who will come to be as Captain Marvel. Asher has played roles in the television industry and we could always use a fresh face on the screen to awe us anew.
Zachary Levi goes on to be the full-grown superhero Captain Marvel. Levi has had his fair share of film and TV roles. Among the most popular of them are Big Momma’s House 2 (2006) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). He also played the character of Chuck Bartowski in the famous action, comedy, romance TV series Chuck (2007-2012), so he sounds promising.
Mark Strong will play the super-villain role as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Strong has a long list of films and TV series credits. Some of them he played as a villain, which makes us anticipate just how good he will be in Shazam.
These three main characters make a perfect teaser for the highly anticipated film. Of course, we can also have expectations with the supporting characters of the film. Jack Dylan Grazer will also be in this film as Frederick “Freddy” Freeman. As “Freddy”, he is Billy’s foster-brother-slash-best-friend. Although disabled, he basically becomes Shazam’s sidekick as he is the only who knows of the hero’s secrets.
“Shazam” will be in theaters this coming April 5, 2019. Before you go to the cinema for it, watch the official trailer of Shazam here:
