Another spin-off of the Arthurian lore comes into the theaters under the banner of 20th Century Fox. With Joe Cornish at the director’s chair, The Kid Who Would Be King is the latest adventure film that every kid could probably relate to.
The film tells the story of Alex, a teenager who is as normal as any other teenager. However, his fate is bound for glory and splendor when he pulls out a sword from a rock right in the middle of an abandoned building ruins. With the help of Google Translate, he and his friend is able to translate the carvings on the sword. Much to their awe, the sword is King Arthur’s mythical sword, Excalibur!
But would the sword only serve as a decoration for the powerless schoolboy? Of course not! A threat is coming to town in the form of Arthur’s half-sister Morgan le Fay. Alex will now have to seek aid from his knights and would-be warriors.
Starring Louis Serkis on the lead role, the film will also feature stars Rebecca Ferguson, Sir Patrick Stewart, Angus Imrie, Rhianna Doris, Tom Taylor, and Dean Chaumoo.
